A Taste of Nate

Directed by Jim McGorman, this is "a glimpse into the world of Nate Wiley and The Crowd Pleasers, veterans of modern jazz and house band at Bob and Barbara's Lounge in Philadelphia. Go backstage (and seemingly back in time) and meet the band in this savory and stylish short that will leave you hankering for more of this truly old school band."

I do love jazz.

I spent many a night at Bob and Baerbara's (you haven't lived until you've cruised South Street with your friends). Having spent some time listening to Nate, it was sad to hear of his death.

Hey, thanks for that guillermo. Welcome to blogging, man!

I do love me some good jazz, baby! I would've loved to have seen Nate in person. After seeing that documentary I would've made a special trip just to see him.

If you ever get to Philly, you gotta get to B&B's and then check out Warmdaddys...

Locally I hit LaVeLee (looking forward to seeing Poncho Sanchez later this month) and the Bird Cage (usually Wednesdays).

Any jazz clubs you recommend?

My apologies.

I've never hit the jazz club scene in Philly, although I would. When it comes to jazz, I go to Chicago. I love that city. I haven't hit all the clubs yet, but I love B.L.U.E.S and Kingston Mines and Blue Chicago at Ohio. Just great.

I haven't been to Philly in a long time (though it does have vibrant jazz scene), I was talking about clubs here in LA. Both LaVeLee and the Bird Cage are here in Studio City. I'm looking to escape my comfort zone and expand...
